Aguimes is a Village located in the southeast of Gran Canaria. It has a charming old town which was once the religious capital of the area.
In the centre of the village stands the Parish Church of San Sebastian, which became the iconic image of the village, with its neoclassical facade. This church is part of Spain’s National Heritage and it holds beautiful religious sculptures of one of the most important Spanish baroque sculptors: Luján Pérez.
Aguimes is also known for the charming colourful houses located in the historic centre, there you will also find some sculptures that tell the history of the village, displayed in a street museum way.
Around the main square you will find some local restaurants and coffee places where you can try local food.
Aguimes is one of the departure points to visit Guayadeque, a huge valley with great importance in terms of geology, nature and history in Gran Canaria.
While you are in this part of Gran Canaria, you might find time to visit Aguimes coast: where you will find a beach loved by the locals: Arinaga. Going for a walk on it’s promenade or enjoying the local fish in one of its restaurants might be worth while you are in this part of the Island.
Tejeda is an isolated village located in the centre of the Biosphere Reserve of Gran Canaria, facing the Island’s west mountain range and with privileged views over the sacred rocks: Roque Nublo and Roque Bentayga.
Tejeda is a member of the most “Beautiful Villages in Spain” as a recognition for its charm and also the beauty of its surroundings.
While in Aguimes the houses are colourful, Tejeda stands sober with white small farmers houses, organised in little hamlets.
Once we reach Cruz de Tejeda, and start descending in the direction of Tejeda we feel that we are entering a “Caldera”, which resulted from the collapsed of a huge volcanic crater. The area was described by the Spanish philosopher Miguel de Unamuno as a “petrified storm, but a storm of fire, of lava, more than of water”.
Tejeda is known for its gastronomy, which uses ingredients produced in the local farms. In february every year Tejeda celebrates the “Almond Blosson Festival”, becoming a mayor attraction for locals and visitors.
Sunsets are beautiful in Tejeda, especially in summer.
Charming Agaete will host your last accommodation of the program. After enjoying the mountains for a week you will reach the coast.
Agaete is a village that has it all, the beautiful coast, balanced architecture, charming atmosphere, wonderful valley, gastronomy, special events…. and especially friendly people. Agaete is frecuently visited by the island locals, who go there for a swim, to eat in one of the numerous restaurants or to enjoy the different possibilities the village has to offer.
We would like to invite you to enjoy Agaete’s sunsets, trully magnificent, due to the exceptional views over the so called “dragon tale” mountain range and the gigantic Mount Teide (Tenerife).
Fill in the Reservation Form you will find on this web page. We will require a contact person name, contact details, number of people, type of package you would like, arrival date…. you can add any further information you wish to submit.
